Job title: Staff Embedded Software Engineer
About the Role The Staff Embedded Software Engineer will work independently on the design, development, and maintenance of embedded firmware for an innovative and exciting new venture exploring and commercializing novel technologies and biomarkers that give people and the professionals who treat them new insights into health, physical and mental performance. This position is based in Alameda, CA within the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, focused on helping people manage diabetes with accurate data.
What You'll Do
- Lead software development, verification, and validation; responsible for on-time delivery of high-quality embedded software products that meet budgetary objectives.
- Design and implement software in current programming languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Python) with practical experience in embedded firmware.
- Work independently on identifying new technologies for implementation into new product development and process improvements for both commercial and medical products.
- Exercise independent judgment in identifying, recommending, and implementing significant and/or complex new tools or process improvements to support sensor technology and translate insights into meaningful actions for healthier living.
