Job title: Staff Chaplain
About the Role The Staff Chaplain provides spiritual support and services to patients, caregivers, and the Dana-Farber community. This part-time role (8 hours/week) is onsite at the Attleboro, MA location and supports patients throughout the care journey.
What You'll Do
- Provide spiritual care to patients and caregivers; daily rounding as a member of the DFCI interdisciplinary care team; respond to codes with compassionate presence; collaborate with the inter-professional team; inform patients, caregivers, and staff about DFCI spiritual resources; document visits in the electronic medical record (EMR); lead interfaith gatherings, services, and rituals as requested; uphold DFCI core values of Inclusion, Diversity & Equity; perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Master of Divinity or related master's degree; 1 year of clinical chaplaincy experience in a healthcare setting (oncology experience preferred)
- Completed at least 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE); 4 units preferred; CPE units 3 and 4 may count toward experience
- Board certification or eligibility within 18 months of hire
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; familiarity with EMR; culturally sensitive and committed to diversity and inclusion
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate empathy in challenging situations
Nice to Have
- Oncology experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $62,400.00 - $73,130.00 per year (USD)
