About the Role We are seeking an experienced corporate lawyer with 2-4 years of experience to support Baker McKenzie's cross-border transactions from our Toronto office. The role focuses on reorganizations, integrations, corporate transactional matters, and other multi-jurisdictional projects that are often cross-border, high value, and complex. This position supports our global network rather than being limited to Canadian transactions. What You'll Do
- Work on reorganizations, integrations, corporate transactional matters, and other multijurisdictional projects that are often cross-border, high value, and complex.
- Support the Firm's global network on cross-border transactions, act as a country or regional coordinator, and draft corporate documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams including other Baker McKenzie lawyers, legal project managers, and members of the legal tech team across the firm's global offices.
- Develop strong working relationships with partners and lawyers across practice groups and jurisdictions.
- Contribute to bespoke projects beyond billable matters, including identifying innovative services, methods, know-how, and platforms to improve efficiency. What We're Looking For
- Qualified as a solicitor with demonstrable corporate experience; 2-4 years of experience.
- Ability to review, organize, and analyze documentary and factual evidence; advise on risk and practical mitigation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well in a team and individually.
- Sound commercial awareness and a client-first service orientation.
- Self-starter, collaborative, pragmatic, commercial, and adaptable.
- Excellent writing and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance work priorities and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online research tools. Nice to Have
- Experience coordinating cross-border projects across multiple jurisdictions and drafting corporate documentation.
- Familiarity with legal project management, legal tech tools, and continual process improvement.
