About this role
Job title: Staff Analog IC Design Engineer, Power
About the Role Skyworks is seeking an experienced Staff Analog IC Design Engineer, Power to develop complex analog/mixed-signal and power-management ICs for Industrial Control, Industrial Power, Isolation, and Infrastructure applications. The role involves defining architectures, designing transistor-level analog blocks, simulating performance, coordinating layout and tape-out, and enabling high-volume production.
What You'll Do
- Architect, design, verify circuits, systems, and algorithms to meet product requirements for analog/mixed-signal and power-management ICs.
- Participate in product roadmaps, definition, technology selection, design, and verification; contribute to system architecture.
- Design transistor-level analog circuit blocks; simulate sub-system performance; create/use behavioral models of blocks and the entire IC.
- Do and/or supervise physical layout; verify circuit and chip-level operation and performance; assist with tape-out related activities.
- Conduct detailed documentation, silicon evaluation and debugging, production test development support, and customer support.
- Report design results through design reviews; attend reviews to provide input and learn from others; mentor junior team members.
- Balance innovation with execution; contribute to end-to-end design flow from product definition to high-volume manufacturing; support manufacturing problem solving.
- Research design techniques through technical publications and seminars; protect IP via patents or trade secrets.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of Analog/Power IC design experience.
- Advanced knowledge of MOS transistors and analog circuit design.
- Knowledge of complex AC/DC analysis (poles, zeros, compensation), loop dynamics and feedback systems.
- Advanced knowledge of device physics and CMOS/BiCMOS fabrication processes.
- Experience with complex mixed-signal design problems.
- End-to-end design flow experience from product definition to high-volume manufacturing including production test, applications validation and manufacturing problem solving.
- Advanced understanding of layout tradeoffs for performance and size.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers; strong background in analog signal chain solutions.
- Strong knowledge of circuit simulation tools, layout verification tools, modeling tools, and UNIX.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of high voltage processes and design in BCD and/or SOI type processes.
