Job Title: Staff Accountant
Duration: 1 year
Location: Warren, MI Onsite
Pay Rate: $20/hr - $25/hr. Staff Accountant
Position Summary
This position reports to the Finance Manager and supports financial and accounting operations. The role is responsible for preparing financial documentation, processing invoices and accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting monthly close activities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare financial packages that include invoices, timesheets, bid packages, and other project-related documents.

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial transactions.

Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing financial data.

Review and process PeopleSoft Quick Invoices against receiving documentation.

Follow up with internal teams to resolve billing and invoice questions.

Complete monthly reconciliations of transportation invoices.

Build and maintain records of receipts.

Prepare and maintain documentation for financial projects.

Maintain the monthly close timetable to help meet reporting deadlines.

Support PeopleSoft accounting transactions and transportation invoice processing.

Participate in or manage projects as assigned while meeting deadlines.

Work independently and collaboratively while managing changing priorities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

2-5 years of accounting or finance experience.

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Experience with QuickBooks Online or Enterprise.

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including:

Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with inventory management.

Experience with financial modeling and report generation.

Comfortable working with multiple systems and managing competing priorities.
