Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant

An established manufacturing company in Vista is adding a Staff Accountant to its Finance & Accounting team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how a business actually operates — not just recording transactions. You'll have exposure to general ledger accounting, inventory, cost accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting, working closely with Accounting and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries

• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules

• Assist with monthly and year-end close

• Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate variances

• Assist with cost accounting and manufacturing expense analysis

• Review financial transactions for accurate coding

• Maintain prepaid, accrual, and fixed asset schedules

• Assist with AP and AR as needed

• Prepare monthly financial reports

• Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies

• Support inventory counts and related accounting activities

• Assist with standard cost and variance reporting

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation

• Assist with annual budget and forecast preparation

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes

• 2+ years of accounting experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Manufacturing or product-based accounting experience preferred

• Understanding of inventory and cost accounting is a strong plus

• Strong Excel skills

• Experience with an ERP system

• Solid understanding of debits, credits, and reconciliations

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
