Who We Are

L. Rose Recruiting is partnering with Blezoo, a creative and growing promotional marketing agency based in Apopka, Florida, to find a Staff Accountant who is ready to take ownership of the company's accounting function.

Blezoo is a family-owned business that has grown organically since its founding, building a strong reputation for helping businesses bring their brands to life through creative promotional products, branded merchandise, and marketing solutions.

With a small, high-performing team, Blezoo offers a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where people are encouraged to think differently, take initiative, and make a meaningful impact. The team values creativity, accountability, continuous improvement, and having fun along the way.

Who You Are

You're an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and making sure the numbers tell the right story.

You're comfortable managing the day-to-day details of accounting, but you also understand the bigger picture. You notice when something doesn't add up, ask questions, and take the initiative to find solutions.

You thrive in a smaller, growing business where priorities can shift, everyone wears multiple hats, and your contributions have a direct impact.

Most importantly, you're dependable, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with leadership and the rest of the team.

What You Will Do

As the Staff Accountant, you'll serve as Blezoo's primary in-house accounting professional, managing everything from daily financial transactions to month-end close and financial reporting.

Working directly with the CEO, you'll play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting business decisions, and identifying opportunities to improve processes.

Accounting Operations

  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, deposits, and payment processing.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on payments to support healthy cash flow.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, vendor statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and an organized general ledger in QuickBooks.
  • Review job costs against client billing to ensure expenses are properly captured and recovered.
  • Manage vendor financial information, payment terms, and client tax exemption documentation.

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Own the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements and maintain CPA-ready financial records.
  • Monitor cash flow, analyze financial data, and identify trends or potential concerns.
  • Provide financial information and insights to support leadership decisions.

Compliance & Financial Controls

  • Manage sales tax filings, including multi-state requirements.
  • Prepare licensing royalty reports and maintain business licenses.
  • Support tax preparation and internal or external audits.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls and safeguard confidential financial information.
  • Research new financial, tax, or regulatory requirements and coordinate the necessary next steps.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy.
  • Leverage technology, automation, and AI tools where appropriate to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales and other departments to resolve billing questions and financial discrepancies.
  • Support special projects and evolving business needs.

How You Will Do It

Success in this role goes beyond keeping accurate books. We're looking for someone who approaches accounting with curiosity, ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset.

You'll be successful by:

  • Taking ownership: Managing the accounting function independently, following through on responsibilities, and keeping leadership informed.
  • Being proactive: Identifying discrepancies, financial risks, and opportunities before they become larger issues.
  • Paying attention to detail: Maintaining accurate records, meeting deadlines, and ensuring financial information is reliable.
  • Finding solutions: Researching unfamiliar issues, asking thoughtful questions, and taking action rather than waiting for direction.
  • Communicating effectively: Working closely with the CEO, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Embracing technology: Looking for smarter, more efficient ways to manage processes while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment.
  • Staying adaptable: Being comfortable with changing priorities and taking on new responsibilities as the business grows.

What You Bring

  • At least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a Staff Accountant role or as the primary accounting professional within a small business.
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Working knowledge of sales tax, including multi-state requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in promotional products, printing, marketing, or a related industry.
  • Experience presenting financial insights and recommendations directly to business owners or senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with accounting automation and AI-powered productivity tools.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid Schedule: Full-time position with required in-office days Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • Location: Apopka, Florida.
  • Direct Impact: The opportunity to own the accounting function and work closely with the CEO.
  • Collaborative Culture: A close-knit, creative team that values initiative, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Opportunity to Grow: The ability to improve processes, expand your responsibilities, and contribute to the continued success of a growing business.
