Job title: Sr.Staff Software Engineer- Network Platform
About the Role Databricks is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer with deep networking expertise to shape the future of its Networking Infrastructure. As an early member of the Bangalore site, you will help define the technical vision and architecture for next-generation network connectivity and observability services that scale to millions of VMs across multiple clouds.
What You'll Do
- Own and drive the design of large-scale connectivity platforms that form the backbone between Databricks’ control plane and compute plane.
- Set technical direction at an org-wide level, lead cross-team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers.
- Work closely with product management, operations, and partner engineering to translate long-term business goals into durable, extensible networking systems.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and influence architecture and execution across teams.
- Tackle ambiguous problems and solve multi-cloud distributed systems challenges at massive scale.
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of production-level experience in Rust, Java, Scala, C++, or similar language.
- 10+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch.
- Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures.
- Experience with cloud networking, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation languages like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.

- Ability to thrive in ambiguous problem spaces and tackle multi-cloud distributed systems challenges at scale.
