About the Role Northern Trust seeks a Sr. Wealth Strategist to lead business development and grow the UHNW client base. The role partners with local and national specialists to identify prospects, articulate Northern Trust's wealth management capabilities, and convert prospects into clients, while ensuring a seamless transition to ongoing relationship management.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy for UHNW clients.
- Cultivate new relationships with individuals, families, institutions, and businesses; build and leverage COIs.
- Identify prospects, present capabilities, and convert them to clients; manage end-to-end sales cycle.
- Oversee transitions of ongoing client contact and account management to the appropriate teams.
- Act as a local brand ambassador and leader for civic and philanthropic organizations.
- Build internal and external networks and work with a team of experts to meet client needs.
- Maintain a long-term, consultative approach to estate planning, wealth transfer, and tax planning; check in with clients regularly.
- Profile clients' financial landscapes to tailor solutions across Northern Trust capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of sales and relationship management experience, preferably with wealth management clients.
- Strong Centers of Influence (COIs) network for UHNW individuals and families (attorneys, estate planning professionals, CPAs).
- Knowledge of fiduciary capabilities and services (e.g., personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning), including fee structures and documentation.
- Ability to profile a client’s financial landscape and deliver solutions across the full suite of Northern Trust capabilities.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses required; CFP, CFTA, CFA, CIMA designations strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and sales skills; effective communication; collaborative approach across the organization.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $137,400 - 240,400 USD (salary range is a good faith estimate).
