About the Role Sr Subject Matter Expert (Support&Ops) focused on VMware NSX, providing hands-on implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support for NSX-V/NSX-T environments, including security (DFW), load balancing, overlay networking, routing, and gateway services. The role involves working with VMware tools and cross-functional teams to ensure stable NSX infrastructure. What You'll Do
- Hands-on implementation and troubleshooting of VMware NSX-V/NSX-T
- Work on DFW, load balancers, and gateway/firewall configurations
- Configure and troubleshoot VXLAN/GENEVE overlays, TEP, ARP, MAC, BUM traffic
- Understand NSX architecture components: logical switching, VNI, distributed routing, bridging, Edge Service Gateway
- Configure and maintain load balancing (L4/L7), IPsec and L2 VPN Services
- Packet walk for logical switching, routing, bridging; troubleshoot issues
- Use VMware tools: VROps, VRLI, VRNI for monitoring and diagnostics
- Support operations and escalation with NSX intelligence, alarms, events, and federation
- Knowledge of stretched segments and stretched Tier-0/Tier-1 routing
- SNAT and DNAT and firewall policies, rules, groups, service and profile context What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with VMware NSX, ESX Server or other VMware products
- Strong knowledge of NSX-V and NSX-T; DFW and load balancers
- Knowledge of VXLAN and GENEVE overlay tunnel protocols
- Understanding of TEP, ARP and MAC Table; handling BUM traffic
- Logical Switching concepts and VNI; Distributed logical routing, Bridging, Edge Service Gateway
- Knowledge of load balancing architecture - L4/L7; IPSEC and L2 VPN services
- Troubleshooting NSX related issues; NSX intelligence; Alarms and Events and NSX Federation
- Stretched Segments, stretched Tier-0 and Tier-1 routing; SNAT and DNAT
- Load balancer topology - inline or one-armed
- Sound knowledge distributed firewall and gateway firewall architecture; firewall policies, rules, groups, service and profile context
- Working experience with VMware tools such as VROps, VRLI, VRNI
- Troubleshooting & Implementation Experience in core Routing protocols Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of NSX intelligence, Alarms and Events and NSX Federation
