About the Role Stratolaunch seeks a Sr, Staff, or Principal Level GNC Engineer with a focus in navigation to participate in the development of hypersonic vehicle flight control systems. You will contribute to design, development, requirements verification, and test execution for hypersonic flight control systems, evaluating a broad range of technical data to inform decisions. What You'll Do
- Develop and evaluate advanced navigation algorithms to meet requirements
- Build navigation models and simulations to predict performance
- Perform analyses to verify designs meet requirements
- Contribute to overall flight control system design, development, integration, and test
- Develop engineering tools as needed and communicate status to Vehicle Management System and GNC leads
- Maintain integrity and accountability in all work What We're Looking For
- Experience in navigation system design, development, and testing on aerospace systems
- Proficiency with Kalman filtering, Extended Kalman filtering, and estimation techniques
- Experience implementing tightly coupled GPS-aided strapdown navigation
- Experience with inertial measurement systems, biases, and drift
- Ability to anchor navigation simulation models to flight test data and assess robustness to reset/init/dropout/outliers
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; willingness to travel
