About this role
About the Role A Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Python, networking, DevOps, and messaging. This hands-on role bridges software development, network engineering, and operations to design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, mission-critical applications for cloud and IoT-scale systems. What You'll Do
- Design and develop scalable Python services for cloud and IoT-scale systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Build REST/gRPC APIs and pub/sub architectures using message brokers such as MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Google Pub/Sub.
- Enable secure device-to-cloud and service-to-service communication using MQTT and event-driven patterns.
- Build and operate automated CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Collaborate with network and security teams, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot issues across application, messaging, network, and infrastructure layers using tools like Wireshark.
- Design efficient SQL/NoSQL data models and implement security best practices (authentication/authorization, encryption, secrets management). What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python and frameworks such as Flask, Django, FastAPI.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating event-driven architectures using MQTT (required); Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Pub/Sub a plus.

- DevOps mindset with hands-on CI/CD experience using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (including GKE) and experience deploying cloud-native apps.
- Data experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and an understanding of performance trade-offs.
- API design expertise (REST/gRPC) and experience integrating distributed systems with synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills; mentoring and code review experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience preferred. Nice to Have
