About the Role
This role leads and manages a sophisticated wealth management client base within Northern Trust, providing fiduciary-focused advice and holistic wealth solutions. You will work with clients, their advisors, and internal teams to understand needs, align with fiduciary standards, and deliver proactive, value-driven guidance.
What You'll Do
- Manage assigned account base of sophisticated wealth management clients by collaborating with client service team, clients and their professional advisors to understand needs and goals. Demonstrates mastery of fiduciary duties and related laws.
- Lead client conversations for goals-driven wealth management and holistic advice; provide proactive advice on NT products/services, regulatory/tax changes, and appropriate actions.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of NT resources; apply fiduciary knowledge to identify opportunities to enhance relationships.
- Deliver focused client service with responsiveness, diplomacy; maintain suitable communication frequency and excellent time management.
- Build and maintain knowledge of NT fiduciary standards; apply judgment to complex relationships and manage fiduciary risk.
- Cultivate relationships with referral sources and external advisors; identify opportunities to showcase NT expertise.
- Travel to meet with clients as needed to pursue revenue and servicing needs.
- Teach and mentor less experienced partners; advise Relationship Advisors on fiduciary issues.
- Provide leadership on fiduciary projects and committees; lead continued development of fiduciary/advisory skills.
- Use sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions.
- Maintain eligibility to serve as LRM for all relationships.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive knowledge of fiduciary and financial products/services; experience with fiduciary accounts and complex relationships.
- Technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal, and operations; required to service clients; extensive knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles, laws and regulations.
- Skills in negotiating, problem solving, delegating, leadership, and sales; strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices.
- Education and Experience: College or university degree; JD or similar credential strongly preferred; 12–15 years’ experience as a relationship manager or attorney in trust administration, estate administration, estate planning, or related fields.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future; Northern Trust will not sponsor; no H-1B etc.
