Job title: Sr Quality/Reliability Engineer

About the Role Senior Reliability Engineer focused on Precision Fastening within Milwaukee Tool's power tool portfolio. You will define test methods and product requirements to ensure durable, market-leading products across advanced development and mass production. This role demands curiosity, accountability, and strong experience in requirements definition, test development, validation, and data-driven decision making.

What You'll Do

  • Be a subject matter expert in the Precision Fastening team regarding test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliability for precision fastening products.
  • Develop critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements in collaboration with product management and user needs research.
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing to ensure product specifications meet reliability, quality, and user needs.
  • Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts.
  • Implement testing best practices within the Precision Fastening team.
  • Interact with global suppliers participating in product development.
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to adhere to schedule and Milwaukee Tool process.
  • Research published standards and released products to build understanding in this growing category.
  • Develop test procedures and plans; document testing plans for execution in lab environments.
  • Perform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data; summarize results with statistics and present conclusions.
  • Communicate results to technical and non-technical leaders; drive timely failure reporting and root-cause and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with global testing, manufacturing, and engineering teams to identify, evaluate, and resolve testing issues.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical, or related)
  • 5+ years of experience in related reliability, test engineering, and quality field
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application (e.g., DOE, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing)
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g., Python, nCode GlyphWorks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW)
  • Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g., Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)
  • Knowledge of measurement system analysis and capability studies (Gage R&R, Process Capability, Machine Capability), particularly as they relate to precision fastening applications
  • Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysis
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to travel 10% (domestic and international)
