Sr. Project Engineer (Manufacturing)
12-Month+ Contract | 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM ET | Hybrid with 4 days a week onsite
Our client, a Global Leader in the Medical Device Industry, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Project Engineer for a 12-month+ contract. The Senior Project Engineer independently leads engineering implementation activities for strategic capital and manufacturing projects from planning through qualification and release. The role coordinates technical integration across equipment, automation, manufacturing, quality, and facilities while ensuring solutions are successfully implemented into production.
Key responsibilities include engineering execution, manufacturing integration, change control and documentation, qualification/release readiness and technical problem solving. The Senior Project Engineer partners closely with Project Managers, Equipment SMEs, Programmers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, reliable, and scalable manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Supporting Project Managers in executing capital projects by coordinating project activities, tracking action items, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
- Attending project meetings to stay aligned with project goals and progress.
- Assisting with equipment installations to ensure smooth integration into manufacturing processes.
- Performing FAT/SAT and validation activities to verify equipment readiness and compliance.
- Working with engineering teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough project documentation throughout each phase.
- Spending time both in the office and on the manufacturing floor to gain hands-on experience and insight into the project lifecycle.
- Learning to progressively take ownership of project tasks and responsibilities.

What you need

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering, or similar.

Entry-level candidates or those with co-op/internship experience are encouraged to apply.

Strong communication and organizational skills capable of managing multiple priorities.

Technical aptitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving and learning.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.

Industry experience in medical devices or healthcare manufacturing.

Certifications like PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalents.

Exposure to manufacturing automation, robotics, or continuous improvement methodologies.
