About this role
Lead reliability engineering efforts for battery-powered tools by managing a small technical team focused on battery, charger, and module development. Support new product development by conducting failure analysis, reliability testing, warranty modeling, safety reviews, and compliance activities, while ensuring electrical system designs meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans, assess product risks, analyze reliability data, obtain certifications (UL, CSA, TÜV, etc.), and represent the voice of the customer throughout the product development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred) and 5+ years of experience in reliability, quality, or testing for electrical systems in new product development. Experience with lithium batteries, power electronics, motors, software quality assurance, and reliability analysis methods is highly desirable. Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills are essential.
This hybrid role is based in Towson, Maryland (minimum 3 onsite days per week) and offers a salary range of $90,000–$144,900, along with comprehensive benefits, tuition reimbursement, employee discounts, and opportunities for career growth within Stanley Black & Decker's global engineering organization.
