Job title: Sr. Program Manager, Tax Reporting & Compliance
About the Role Amazon is seeking an experienced Program Manager to join the Direct Tax Compliance and Reporting team. The role will manage projects that touch multiple teams and transform tax processes, helping simplify, standardize, integrate, and automate processes owned by US & Foreign Reporting and Compliance, the US Outbound, the Tax Provision, and Finance/Accounting/FP&A teams.
What You'll Do
- Own programs and end-to-end operational efforts, unblock teams, escalate when appropriate, and ensure all stakeholders are up to date on status.
- Develop methodologies and tools to manage multiple projects and provide metrics, reports, and status updates to stakeholders.
- Manage project plans, action items, follow-ups, and completion of tasks for multiple projects.
- Collaborate with various members of the tax team to help develop project plans, tasks, and overall project deliverables; propose ideas to streamline project planning, automate processes, and reporting.
- Participate in the documentation of processes focusing on identifying requirements, mitigating risk, finding opportunities to streamline, and ensuring completeness.
- Prepare documentation of project status and materials to facilitate presentations to leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of program or project management experience.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field.
- Knowledge of general AI tools.
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions.
- Knowledge of Excel at an advanced level.
- Experience with accounting concepts and tax regulations, laws and standards.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: USD 115,600 - 160,000 annually.
- Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs); final compensation determined by experience, qualifications and location.
