Sr. Product Design Engineer

About the Role Koch IP Holdings, LLC (Molex) is seeking an experienced Sr. Product Design Engineer to design high-speed connector/cage solutions for hyperscale and data-center customers. This role sits in the New Product Development team within the Datacom & Specialty Solutions division and requires cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, cost-effective products.

What You'll Do

• Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams including signal integrity, manufacturing integration, program management, sales, and senior leadership.
• Create/modify 3D models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Perform mechanical design analysis, simulations, test reports, and eliminate design mistakes.
• Conduct measurements and testing to verify product performance.
• Support Manufacturing and Quality Assurance during product launches; travel to manufacturing sites may be required.
• Follow product development processes and ensure time-to-market.
• Support sales/marketing to communicate with customers and solve engineering issues.
• Lead and evaluate suppliers; implement new technologies to enable next-generation products and improve NPD processes.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in mechanical design (patent filing ability not subject to 5-year limit).
• Mechanical Engineering, Molds and Dies Design Engineering.
• Design experience with connectors, notebooks, sheet metal products, light pipes, thermal solutions.
• 2+ years of connector design experience.
• 2+ years of team leadership experience.

Nice to Have

• 2nd Language: English; able to join global meetings in English.
• 3D/2D CAD skills: NX (preferred), Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
• Drawing skills: GD&T and product drawings.
• Design skills: Tolerance analysis, DFM, experience with FEA.
• Knowledge in molding, stamping, PCB, plating, assembly process, product development process.
