Job title: Sr. Principal Team Leader, Cathy Family Office

About the Role Lead the Cathy Family Office accounting function to oversee financial statement preparation for 60+ entities, applying GAAP and not-for-profit knowledge to support the family enterprise. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building with direct reports, leaders, and peers, within Chick-fil-A's Flexible Futures model (hybrid in-person and virtual).

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the reporting of the Family Enterprise financial statements
  • Lead the team responsible for accounting on various enterprise assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses (including capital assets)
  • Serve as final review for all Family Enterprise reporting (60+ entities)
  • Directly oversee GL account reconciliations prepared by the team
  • Compile insights and commentary for monthly and year-end financial statement packets
  • Oversee identification and mitigation of Internal Assurance risks specific to financial reporting
  • Provide oversight on accounting policies
  • Oversee preparation of work papers and address auditor questions and requests for annual financial statement audit
  • Oversee partners/consultants and serve as relationship manager for banking relationships
  • Use GAAP and not-for-profit accounting expertise to partner with the business on strategic direction for various projects and new initiatives
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work optimization efficiencies for the Cathy Family Office Accounting Function

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • CPA
  • 10+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of people development and leadership experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including mastery of Excel
  • Financial acumen; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and review
  • Strategic/forward-thinking mindset with extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a drive to continually improve outputs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented and able to partner cross-functionally with other leaders
