Job title: Sr Principal Analog Mixed Signal Design Engineer
About the Role The Sr Principal Analog Mixed Signal Design Engineer will contribute to architectural investigations and implementation of high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits for Marvell's Optical PHY team in San Diego. You will verify designs with industry tools, work cross-functionally with layout, verification, and applications teams, and shepherd analog IP from concept to production.
What You'll Do
- Conduct architectural investigations and implementation for PLL, DLL, ADC, regulators, amplifiers, TX/RX, and CDRs to meet performance targets.
- Perform design verification using SPICE, Spectre, MATLAB, and other industry tools.
- Collaborate with layout, verification, and applications teams and manage delivery of analog IP from concept to production.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuits including ADCs, DACs, RX/TX, PLLs, filters, bandgap bias circuits, regulators, and other analog circuits.
- Expertise in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies; familiarity with low-power and high-speed design techniques.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to identify and implement best practices.
- Proficiency with IC design CAD tools such as Spectre, SPICE, MATLAB, Hsim, Verilog, etc.
- Lab testing skills to evaluate prototypes against specifications.
- MS in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of related experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of related experience.
- Optical transceiver/high-speed data communications experience is a plus.
