Job title: Sr. Planning Engineer

About the Role Sr. Planning Engineer will execute, manage, and supervise planning/reporting activities for EPC projects under the Project Control Manager, ensuring compliance with contract and quality requirements. The role leads the Planning team and interfaces with clients, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate project controls.

What You'll Do

  • Execute, manage, and supervise planning/reporting activities within projects of any size and complexity under the Project Control Manager’s supervision, ensuring contract and quality requirements are met.
  • Oversee the Planning team’s daily activities.
  • Guide planning engineers in initializing project control tools per company procedures.
  • Lead the preparation of planning procedures (WBS, schedules, progress measurement) in compliance with contract and company standards.
  • Prepare project control planning documents (Milestones Plan, 90 days Schedule, WBS, Top-Down Schedule, Project Control Schedule, Progress Curves, Reporting, Manpower Histograms).
  • Review and issue planning reports, ensuring consistency; develop Schedule Narrative/Basis of Assumptions and track deviations from Baseline.
  • Perform periodic schedule control, assess progress, forecast completion, and propose corrective actions.
  • Monitor manhour expenditure and productivity trends; organize meetings for decision-making on critical matters.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor schedule deviations; guide subcontractors in finalizing contractual schedules/milestones.
  • Support Schedule Risk Analysis; interact with Client Planning representatives and other stakeholders to gather required information.
  • Analyze time impact of potential changes/claims; assist Contract Management in delay/schedule impact analysis.
  • Maintain knowledge of Primavera P6, Milemate! Schedule Risk Analysis, Acumen Fuse, TPMS.
  • Coordinate with construction subcontractors on developing Contract Level 3 & 4 Schedules and manpower histograms; verify construction schedule feasibility.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance; coordinate with material controller for material feasibility.
  • Collect data at project completion for database development and Project Close-out report.
  • Train and support junior engineers; stay updated on technical improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • University Degree or Diploma in Civil discipline or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in the industrial construction of large XL gas plants; 2-3 projects of comparable size.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience; experience on the top-tier contractor side.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Primavera P6 proficiency; planning and scheduling tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Schedule Risk Analysis tools; ability to lead planning processes in large EPC projects.

  • Contract role with a 60-12 rotation; excellent salary package with benefits.
