About the Role Aecon is seeking a Sr. Planner to support a transformative infrastructure project in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role will develop and maintain the project schedule, coordinate scope across entities, and ensure data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Perform and/or coordinate the work scope for all entities into the total project plan.
- Review the representation of project scope in schedules.
- Develop and maintain all required project schedules and ensure data integrity across the project life cycle.
- Create and implement key scheduling requirements such as bespoke activity coding, naming conventions, client requirements management protocol, project calendars and resource and plant data libraries.
- Support resource planning and analysis; forecast labor, materials, and equipment requirements over the project based on work front analysis.
- Perform productivity analysis of construction operations and verify; establish productivity baselines and review labor estimates for reasonableness.
- Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to internal and external clients.
- Analyze schedule variance, float, and trend; monitor schedule KPIs.
- Develop progress measurement processes and analyze progress and performance data.
- Manage schedule change notices and forecast project impact; implement corrective action when performance trends deviate from baseline.
- Perform audits on schedules, including those produced by subcontractors, and prepare required output documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain, add, or modify schedule data and plans.
- Support schedule 5D integration with the 3D model and cost reporting, including cash flow and sequence simulations.
- Create and maintain a collaborative culture; supervise, develop and mentor project controls personnel (i.e., Project Planners and Planning Coordinators).
What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering (preferably Civil) or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years planning experience in heavy civil mega projects.
- Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling and managing complex projects.
- Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability.
- Expert level knowledge of project planning and scheduling.
