Sr. Optical Engineer (TS Clearance Needed)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (Onsite)
Role Overview
This position supports the development of high-performance Directed Energy Systems and Electro-Optical Systems. The role involves developing and validating requirements for complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems. The successful candidate will work under minimal direction to create architectures, perform analyses, and support products throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and validate requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and components.

Develop architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher-level systems and platforms.

Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other forms of analysis to predict system performance and optimize design.

Define and conduct critical tests to validate the performance of designs against requirements.

Manage aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.

Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle by offering guidance to resolve complex issues.

Support project management by coordinating the development of work statements, budgets, and schedules.

Generate major sections of proposals to support the development of new business.

Perform some work in a clean room environment.

Required Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of related experience. This includes work experience in Electro-Optics and with Electro-Optical systems, such as producing specifications, tolerances, simulations, assembly, integration, and testing of fiber optic sensors and components. Experience in laser and electro-optical systems requirements development, integration, testing, and analysis is also required.

Additional Requirements

This position requires U.S. Citizenship. Willingness to relocate at one's own expense if not already within commuting distance of Albuquerque, NM. Less than 10% domestic travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience effectively communicating and collaborating on multi-discipline teams.

Experience in electro-optical design and analysis using Zemax, CodeV, or an equivalent software design package.

Experience performing analysis on EO/IR systems.
