Sr. NVH Engineer

About the Role The Sr. NVH Engineer will test and develop the Noise and Vibration performance for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles in North America as part of the NVH group. The role supports prototype and pilot program development, ensuring NVH performance meets customer expectations across road and environmental conditions, while collaborating with regional and global teams. What You'll Do

• Test and Develop the Noise and Vibration performance of North American Market Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
• Conduct experimental NVH investigations including Transfer Path Analysis, Modal Analysis, and Sound Quality Analysis in support of prototype and pilot vehicle development.
• Perform NVH and Wind Noise subjective evaluations & objective testing, investigate root causes, develop countermeasures, and summarize findings in reports.
• Evaluate vehicle NVH performance from the North America Customers' perspective.
• Utilize experimental data acquisition systems and NVH analysis software (LMS Test Lab, HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS, ...).
• Collaborate with NVH and cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans, coordinate test vehicles, manage supplier activities and ensure efficient use of development resources.
• Conduct in-depth benchmarking of competitor vehicles and translate findings into actionable insights, recommended development direction and preliminary performance targets.
• Analyze and interpret customer feedback and quality data results with internal and external partners (J.D. Power IQS, Consumer Reports, social media, general media, and internal & external customer clinics).
• Interface regularly with Engineering Design Department and counterparts in our R&D Headquarters in Korea; contribute to joint investigations and development activities.
• Support vehicle NVH development activities at the Hyundai California Proving Ground.
• Support North American manufacturing plants, assisting with issue identification, troubleshooting and countermeasure implementation related to build, assembly and process variation during pilot and production stages.
• Contribute to the identification, evaluation and development of new NVH technologies, methodologies and strategies to improve performance and competitiveness of current and future Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
• Participate in domestic and international drive evaluations, development trips and customer-perception events to assess vehicle NVH performance under a variety of conditions and environments.
• Independently manage assigned NVH projects, ensuring high-quality data, thorough analysis and on-time delivery of technical recommendations. What We're Looking For
• Strong background in NVH engineering with hands-on experience in experimental investigations and data analysis.
• Experience with Transfer Path Analysis, Modal Analysis, and Sound Quality Analysis.
• Proficiency with data acquisition systems and NVH software including LMS Test Lab and HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop test plans, coordinate test vehicles, and manage supplier activities.
• Capability to benchmark competitor vehicles and translate findings into actionable development targets.
• Experience interpreting customer feedback from sources such as J.D. Power IQS, Consumer Reports, social media, and customer clinics.
• Effective communication with Engineering Design and global R&D teams; willingness to travel for drive evaluations. Nice to Have
• Experience with the North American NA market or Hyundai/Kia/Genesis brand programs.
• Experience with wind noise evaluation and aeroacoustics.
• Project management experience.
