Job title: Sr. NPD Engineer

About the Role Reporting to the Sr. NDP Manager, you will independently lead new SPD development projects, drive design from concept to mass production, and ensure on-time, on-cost, on-quality launches.

Independently lead new SPD development project to ensure on time, on cost and on quality product launch as project manager and NPD Engineer. Drive product design from conceptual stage to design frozen, process frozen, product validation and mass production, while contributing to profitability and manufacturability.

What You'll Do

• Independently lead SPD development projects as project manager and NPD Engineer to ensure on-time, on-cost, on-quality launches
• Drive product design from concept to design freeze, process freeze, validation and mass production
• Analyze BOM, processes and tooling with inputs from manufacturing, process, and quality engineers to determine product profitability
• Conduct technical and cost feasibility studies for new business opportunities
• Design overvoltage protection SPD modules per customer requirements
• Perform mechanical design using 2D/3D CAD and injection molding techniques
• Review customer circuit protection designs and provide manufacturable, cost-effective solutions
• Apply FMEA and risk analysis to identify design weaknesses and mitigate risks
• Track product trials and define process flow
• Compile Lessons Learned documentation after project completion

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design; SPD and varistor development experience preferred
• Proficiency with 3D/2D CAD tools (Solid Edge, ProE, SolidWorks; Inventor a plus)
• Familiarity with injection molding housing design and GD&T
• Strong knowledge of electronic components (Varistor, GDT, Inductor, Sidactor, TCO, etc.)
• Proven ability to lead projects and drive cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication and teamwork; fluent in English (oral and written)

Nice to Have

• SPD development and varistor development experience
• Experience specifically in Surge Protection Device (SPD) development
