Job title: Sr. Multi-Craft Mechanic
About the Role The Sr. Multi-Craft Mechanic operates plant equipment in a safe and appropriate manner and performs maintenance tasks across multiple craft areas. The role requires qualification as a Multi-Craft Sr., Sr. Mechanic, and Sr. Electrician, and willingness to perform lower-class tasks within the maintenance department. The position emphasizes compliance with Responsible Care EMS (ISO 14001), HSE&S policies, and a culture of process safety and customer service.
What You'll Do
- Operate equipment safely and independently with minimal supervision across maintenance crafts.
- Ensure all work complies with Responsible Care EMS (ISO 14001) and HSE&S policies; intervene on non-conformances and communicate through the company process; promote integration of HSE&S into business processes.
- Lead or participate in safety and process-safety activities (ASC, Safety Meetings, RCA investigations, MOC, PSSR, PHA) as requested and provide resources as needed.
- Follow MSOP and Plant Safety Rules; use all required PPE (KEVLAR GLOVES, LATEX GLOVES, FULL FACE RESPIRATOR, HALF FACE RESPIRATOR, DUST MASKS, EAR PLUGS; TYVEK Suits available).
- Read and interpret schematics, sketches, and manuals; work from SOPs; use measuring devices (Meggers, DVOM); be familiar with Class 1 Div 1 & 2 codes.
- Maintain good housekeeping; read, write and speak English; complete required training (7-Step Training Plan) and participate in on-the-job training.
- Location: Orange, CA (onsite); no relocation; must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder; union environment; must be fit to use a full-face respirator (clean shaven).
What We're Looking For
- Must qualify as a Multi-Craft Mechanic, Sr. Mechanic, and Sr. Electrician; willing to perform lower-class maintenance tasks as needed.
- Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Conditions (S.O.C.), Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.); strong communication skills; able to take verbal directions.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools; able to read schematics; solid-state devices familiarity; experienced with measuring devices (Megger, DVOM).
- Familiarity with reading and understanding English; knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control; ability to monitor gauges and adjust controls; basic arithmetic.
- Physical requirements: able to read, write and speak English; able to work in a union environment; able to wear full-face respirator; clean-shaven requirement.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $45.07 per hour (USD); total compensation may include bonus and/or other incentives.
- 16 or more weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations.
