Essential Job Duties

• Market Access Strategy Own the Korea market access strategy and roadmap for the daVinci and Ion portfolio, aligned to BU priorities and lifecycle needs (new indications, new technologies, and evidence milestones). Monitor intelligence on the Market Access landscape, including competition access, healthcare system changes, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) developments, and general trends in the field. Execute Market Access plans based on local needs and strategy aligned with affiliate and global aspirations. Additionally, implement and execute strategic Market Access frameworks—such as payer engagement, negotiation, and objection handling—in close collaboration with the Affiliate Management Team and cross-functional stakeholders. Navigate and respond to the evolving healthcare policy landscape related to daVinci robotic-assisted surgery and Ion robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, expanding patient access by developing and executing fee model and reimbursement pricing strategies, and developing and managing strategies to broaden patient access through private insurance channels. Lead cross-functional alignment on access priorities, risks, timelines, and trade-offs; act as the local access “go-to” expert for daVinci and Ion.

• nHTA and HTR Strategy & Execution Lead development of nHTA strategy (route selection, positioning, comparator strategy, endpoints, evidence requirements, and stakeholder plan). Drive preparation and submission of nHTA dossiers and supporting materials, coordinating internal & external stakeholders. Manage end-to-end nHTA execution: evidence gap assessment, submission planning, Q&A responses, expert input, and meeting preparation. Leads the full spectrum of the Health Technology Reassessment (HTR) process by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies, analyze clinical evidence, and prepare submission materials to ensure barrier-free market expansion of target indications.

• Reimbursement, Coverage & Coding Pathways Lead strategy for securing and optimizing reimbursement and coverage (e.g., benefit category, fee schedule positioning, procedure payment considerations, and hospital economics). Develop Korea-specific pricing strategy aligned with clinical value, budget impact, and health economic data analysis and prepare pricing narrative and justification packages to support external pricing discussions and negotiation. Develop practical reimbursement tools and guidance for internal teams to support customer discussions and adoption.

• Evidence Translation & Value Communication Translate clinical evidence and health economic insights into payer-ready value propositions for Korea (e.g., burden of disease, pathway impact, resource use, outcomes, and system efficiency). Partner with Clinical Affair and HEOR to shape local evidence generation needs (RWE, registries, pathway studies) that directly support nHTA and reimbursement decisions. Ensure all value messages and materials are compliant and locally appropriate.

• Stakeholder Engagement (External & Internal) Identify and establish relationships with key decision-makers for market access and actively involve in the political landscape and appropriately participate in policy initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders including academic societies and KOLs. Support cross-functional engagement plans with RA, CA, Commercial, and GA to shape the policy environment and reduce access barriers. Represent Market Access in local governance forums and provide updates to Korea leadership and relevant global/regional stakeholders.

• Healthcare policy & Market Intelligence Monitor changes in Healthcare policies, reimbursement and pricing, nHTA regulations, assessment frameworks, and precedent cases; translate insights into proactive strategy updates. Track the healthcare policies and monitor announcements of MoHW and FSS(Private payers). Track commercial insurance trends and perform competitive intelligence. Provide the internal reimbursement trainings and update the new regulations and policies to seek new opportunities and reduce the challenges.

Qualifications

• Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MPH, MSc, PharmD, PhD, MBA) in health economics, public health, pharmacy, life sciences, or related field.

• 15+ years of experience in Korea market access/reimbursement, pricing, HTA/nHTA, or government/payer strategy in medical devices, diagnostics, or interventional technologies.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience leading or materially contributing to one or more of the following in Korea: nHTA submissions and outcomes, premium reimbursement for medical materials, Reimbursement pathway execution after nHTA (coverage, coding/payment, hospital coding process)

• Strong understanding of the Korea healthcare system and decision-making bodies, including MoHW, HIRA, NHIS, and relevant HTA / assessment processes.

• Proven ability to translate clinical and economic evidence into clear, persuasive payer value narratives and submission-ready materials.

• Strong project management skills; ability to lead complex, cross-functional workstreams in a matrix environment.

• Excellent communication skills in Korean and English (written and verbal)

• Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in endoscopy, endoluminal procedures, minimally invasive technologies, oncology, or digital health

• Experience with RWE/registry planning, claims/EMR-based analyses, or local evidence generation partnerships.

• Familiarity with hospital procurement/committee processes and provider economics in Korea.

• People leadership experience or strong matrix leadership across functions.
