Job title: Sr. Manager, Supplier Quality and Development, Japan
About the Role Responsible for leading a regionally-based Supplier Quality and Development team within AVS and Imaging Businesses. This role oversees supplier quality and development activities at GE manufacturing sites and with supplier ownership, focusing on supplier capability and quality performance monitoring and improvement across supplier selection, development and monitoring activities. The leader may also serve as the business segment Point of Leadership coordinating supplier management across the segment, and supports NPI, Transfer, and quality improvement projects, ensuring cross-SBU consistency where appropriate. Works closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, QA, Product Quality Management and Engineering to deliver quality products with a total cost mindset.
What You'll Do
- Lead regionally-based Supplier Quality and Development team within AVS and Imaging Businesses.
- Oversee supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and guide key suppliers toward industrial standards of excellence.
- Manage supplier capability and quality performance monitoring and improvement across supplier selection, development and monitoring activities.
- In some cases, assume additional responsibilities as the business segment Point of Leadership and coordinate supplier management across that segment.
- Collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, QA, Product Quality Management and Engineering to deliver quality products with a total cost mindset.
- Support NPI programs, Transfer programs, and quality improvement projects; ensure cross-SBU consistency where appropriate.
- Act as a local leader supporting team members from across SBUs in the region if necessary.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development, including supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to guide suppliers toward industrial standards of excellence and to manage vendor relationships with a strong technical understanding of engineering drawings.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence strategy, policy, and resource allocation within own area.
- Experience leading functional teams or projects with limited resources, risk, and complexity; effective cross-functional communication; ability to advise management and participate in decision making.
- Willingness to work in a region-based role in Japan and collaborate across SBUs.
