Required Skills and Experience

- Strong SAP S/4HANA experience with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes, including SAP EWM, PP, QM, Inventory Management, Materials Management, and master data.
Position Overview The Senior Manager, IT – SAP & MES Manufacturing Systems will lead the technology delivery, site readiness, and operational support for the Costa Rica manufacturing site, with primary focus on SAP S/4HANA rollout, SAP manufacturing and extended warehouse capabilities, and Siemens Opcenter MES implementation. This role will serve as the IT business partner for manufacturing, warehouse, quality, supply chain, and site leadership, ensuring that enterprise platforms are deployed, integrated, validated, and supported in a scalable and compliant manner.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology leader with strong SAP manufacturing, SAP EWM, QM, MES, and regulated systems experience. This individual will manage local resources, partner with implementation vendors, drive cross-functional execution, and ensure the site is operationally ready for go-live, hypercare, and steady-state support.
Key Responsibilities

Lead IT delivery and site readiness for the Costa Rica SAP S/4HANA rollout, including manufacturing, warehouse, quality, procurement, finance, and integration workstreams.

Provide leadership and oversight for SAP process areas including Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), Inventory Management, Materials Management, and SAP-MES integration.

Lead or support Siemens Opcenter MES implementation activities, including requirements, design, configuration alignment, data readiness, testing, validation, deployment, and hypercare.

Lead the implementation of Free Trade Zone solutions at the CR plant.

Partner with manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality, engineering, finance, and global process owners to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.

Manage integration between SAP, MES, labeling, shop-floor systems, reporting platforms, and other manufacturing applications to ensure reliable end-to-end process execution.

Drive cross-functional testing strategy, including unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, cutover rehearsal, defect triage, and go-live readiness.

Coordinate with internal IT teams, business teams, external implementation partners, and managed service providers to ensure project milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies are actively managed.

Establish the local application support model for SAP and MES, including incident management, change management, service levels, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff.

Ensure all system changes, testing, documentation, and validation activities meet applicable quality, regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements.

Develop and mentor local IT resources, build site capability, and create a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Support post-go-live stabilization, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and roadmap planning for manufacturing systems at the Costa Rica site.

Required Skills and Experience

8+ years of progressive IT experience supporting ERP, MES, manufacturing, supply chain, or quality systems in a global manufacturing environment.

Strong SAP S/4HANA experience with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes, including SAP EWM, PP, QM, Inventory Management, Materials Management, and master data.

Strong experience on Free Trade Zone solution setup for Costa Rica

Experience implementing or supporting Siemens Opcenter MES or comparable manufacturing execution systems in a discrete or regulated manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated experience with SAP-MES integration, shop-floor execution, production order processing, warehouse execution, quality inspection processes, device history records, and manufacturing traceability.

Proven experience supporting ERP or MES rollouts, including requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, testing, training, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production support.

Working knowledge of GxP, computer system validation, change control, audit readiness, data integrity, and regulated manufacturing documentation practices.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage implementation partners, influence stakeholders, and communicate clearly with both technical and business audiences.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Fluency in English required; Spanish fluency or strong business proficiency preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in medical device, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Prior experience supporting new plant startup, greenfield manufacturing implementation, or global template rollout.

Knowledge of SAP Fiori, IDocs, interfaces, middleware, RF warehouse execution, labeling systems, 3PL or logistics integrations, Asset management systems, and shop-floor automation.

Experience with Agile delivery, Jira, ServiceNow, validation lifecycle tools, and structured project governance.

SAP certification, Siemens Opcenter training, PMP, Agile certification, Lean Six Sigma, or related credentials are a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field required.

Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
