About the Role We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Field Engineering to lead our Public Sector team serving IC, Navy, Air Force and Space Force. You will lead and promote a dynamic team focusing on enterprise software, big data/analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing and generative AI. You will partner with Sales to accelerate Databricks' market growth, hire and grow the Solutions Architect team, and ensure customers achieve exceptional success.

What You'll Do

• Set the vision and strategy for the Field Engineering team alongside the Sales Director to accelerate transformative outcomes for IC and DoW customers.
• Hire, train, lead and grow the Solutions Architect team in a high-growth environment.
• Maintain a robust hiring pipeline and establish relationships across the business to support customers and the team.
• Keep the SAs ahead of the technical curve with ongoing learning to provide comprehensive solutions.
• Lead technical pre- and post-sales activities, including architectural discussions, qualifications, validations, and product demonstrations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Demonstrate architectural influence and guide customers toward scalable, high-impact solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience building and leading technical pre- or post-sales teams; 5+ years in the data space with a technical product (data warehousing, big data, ML, or generative AI) or 5+ years in mission-focused IC/DoW from a technology perspective.
• Trusted advisor to technical executives who guide strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Ability to lead best practices for technical qualification, validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Strategic mindset focused on delivering customer outcomes at pace.
• Experience hiring and ramping candidates to raise the bar and promote into larger roles.
• Ability to foster positive morale and strong cross-functional partnerships with Field Engineering, Sales, and other internal teams.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Technical and business skills to earn the trust of engineering talent and leadership at Databricks.
• Demonstrated architectural influence; ability to guide and review complex architectures that scale.

Compensation & Benefits

• Local Pay Range: $192,100—$264,175 USD
• This total compensation may include annual performance bonus, equity, and standard benefits; benefits vary by region.
