About the Role The Sr. Manager, Application Engineering - WSS, Capital Solutions leads a team of Application Engineers focused on capital solution projects. This role provides opportunity Go/No-Go support, ensures proper discovery, and assigns opportunities to engineers while collaborating with sales and other stakeholders to drive innovative, value-driven proposals.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of Application Engineers supporting work primarily in North America, with some global opportunities.
- Provide opportunity Go/No-Go support and ensure adequate discovery.
- Manage the opportunity funnel and allocate opportunities to various Application Engineers.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop new technologies and solutions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure proposals meet industry standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical support to customers and colleagues, answering inquiries and troubleshooting issues.
- Stay up to date with industry developments to provide expert technical advice.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental procedures in design and operation of chemical processes.
- Develop and implement plans to minimize the environmental impact of chemical processes.
- Participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
What We're Looking For
- A master's degree in chemical engineering with 7+ years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, or related engineering field, with at least 10 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of people management experience.
- Proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Minimal travel required, 20% or less.
