Job title: Sr Live Video Quality Engineer
About the Role
Paramount's Video Technology Group is seeking a Sr Live Video Quality Engineer to own QA, automation, and reliability of live streaming encoding platforms across Paramount's streaming stack. This role focuses on building robust QA workflows, automating end-to-end video lifecycle testing, and collaborating across DevOps teams to maximize video quality, reliability, and revenue.
What You'll Do
- Quality Assurance workflows across a suite of back-end and front-end frameworks
- Collaborate with other video QA and software engineers to build, test, and release these video platforms
- Automation testing across the whole end-to-end video lifecycle, including acquisition, processing, delivery and playback
- Development and maintenance of internal automated QA systems, ensuring QA testing is integrated with CI/CD strategies
- Define and develop metrics and alerts for monitoring live streaming events and proactively identify reliability risks
- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence
- Work with internal services to increase automation of the QA workflow
- Review test plans with team members to test across different points in the video pipeline
- Analyze test reports, and thoroughly document bugs
- Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Monitor and track resolution of defects
