About this role
Paramount is seeking a Sr Live Event Technology Engineer to serve as the primary technical escalation point for Paramount+’s global Live Event Operations team. This role provides technical support for Tier-1 live streaming events, focusing on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues across the end-to-end live streaming ecosystem while minimizing customer impact during high-profile broadcasts.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main technical escalation point for live event operations, supporting Tier-1 live streaming events.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues across the end-to-end live streaming pipeline, including acquisition, encoding, packaging, delivery, playback, advertising, and platform integrations.
- Work with Live Event Operators, Engineering, Product, CDN providers, cloud vendors, and distribution partners to lead technical investigations and coordinate cross-functional incident response.
- Drive root cause analysis for issues affecting live events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure rapid issue mitigation to minimize impact during high-profile broadcasts.
Requirements
- Experience supporting complex live streaming operations and high-visibility live events.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across video delivery ecosystems and related technologies.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and external partners.
- Proven track record of leading incident response and root cause analysis in a live production environment.
- Comfortable working in a flexible/global role and adapting to operational needs.
