What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Java-based backend services and REST APIs for a chargeback and fraud-prevention platform

• Contribute to large-scale initiatives such as technology modernization, decisioning workflows, and alerting capabilities

• Enhance backend support for configurable notifications

• Partner on database upgrades, integrations, scaling strategies, and containerized service deployment

• Participate in release cycles, feature iteration, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Lead through code reviews and mentoring, and bring a technical perspective to requirements and planning discussions

• What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of professional software development with a strong Java backend focus, including Spring Boot and SQL

• Strong REST API design and service-oriented or microservices architecture experience

• Experience building scalable, high-availability SaaS platforms

• Experience with complex workflows and decisioning systems

• Expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL and/or Oracle preferred)

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Proficiency with Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools to deliver high-quality software at velocity

• Agile/Scrum experience

• Ability to perform under pressure and pivot quickly across tasks and projects as priorities shift, without sacrificing quality

• Clear communication of complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and functions

• Nice to have: Redis, Hibernate, NoSQL, and Liquibase or similar schema-migration tooling
