Job title: Sr Financial Analyst
About the Role The Sr Financial Analyst will help ensure financial integrity and support operational performance at Corning's Reynosa plant. You will partner with plant leadership to provide financial insights, support forecasting and budgeting activities, and contribute to informed decision-making and continuous process improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead the monthly financial close, reporting and forecasting processes with the controller.
- Coordinate team journal entries, reconciliations, and ensure accuracy of the general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external controls, SOX requirements, GAAP, and Corning policies.
- Facilitate Appropriation Requests, monitor capital spend, process asset capitalizations, and maintain fixed asset ledger accuracy.
- Maintain/update plant standard costs with Engineering and Operations for accurate usage rates and labor hours.
- Assist Plant Controller with annual budget preparation.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Ensure inventory valuation compliance and maintain SLOB reserves, write-offs as needed.
- Monitor spending and work with department managers to control costs.
- Research and provide detail on expense variances.
- Support plant leadership and business partners to drive process improvements.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for Plant Controller and Plant Leadership, and assist with capital projects, cost reductions and other initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong financial and accounting background; proven knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience with monthly close, reporting, and forecasting.
- Ability to interact with plant leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Understanding of financial controls and compliance (SOX, GAAP).
- Experience with reconciliations, cost analysis, and inventory compliance.
- SAP knowledge; unit cost analysis.
- Bilingual.
