About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Field Engineer to design, implement, and support advanced communication systems. This role requires extensive travel (>75%) and a strong blend of RF communications and computer/networking expertise. The successful candidate will work with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales to deploy mission-critical systems for Government and Public Safety customers. What You'll Do

Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales to design, implement, test, optimize, cutover, and document communication systems that meet or exceed customer specifications.

Onsite & Remote Configuration: perform remote and onsite configuration of network, server, RF, and database components; generate 'as-configured' documentation and baseline reports.

Installation Oversight & Documentation: oversee onsite installation of network, server, and RF equipment using system design drawings; provide 'as-built' information for final system package.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance: troubleshoot networks, servers, databases, and RF infrastructure; monitor logs and event monitoring applications; conduct preventative maintenance with trend analysis.

Acceptance Testing & Optimization: execute test plans for acceptance, correct deficiencies, and provide accepted results; optimize RF infrastructure based on FCC license data and design parameters.

Technical Problem Solving: design and develop solutions for complex issues during implementation, upgrades, or support.

Reporting: provide weekly activity reports detailing progress and milestones.

RF & Networking: strong mix of multi-site RF systems and IP networks; proficient with LAN/WAN, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems (cabling, routers, switches, firewalls).

Technical Experience: hands-on work with server virtualization (VMware ESXi 6+ and/or Hyper-V 2012+), Windows Server and Workstation OS, network gear, security protocols (KMF, KVL, AES); RF systems and antenna networks; Project 25 products; logging/recording systems.

Demonstrated Systems Experience with Motorola base stations (G-Series), Motorola consoles (MCC7500, AXS), Astro25 Master Site/Multisite/ASR equipment, Channel Banks and T1 Circuits, and traditional telephony/dedicated data circuits.

Test Equipment Proficiency: adept with S412E LMR Master, Viavi 3920B, Anritsu 9090A, VeeX MTX150, T-BERD 5800, TIMS, and related test gear.

General Skills: strong computer literacy (MS Office, Google Suite); excellent communication and customer-facing skills; able to operate calmly in stressful environments. What We're Looking For

Strong RF and networking background with experience configuring LAN/WAN networks and RF systems; ability to work across on-site and remote configurations.

Deep hands-on experience with the following: VMware ESXi v6+ and/or Hyper-V 2012+; Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2/2019; Windows 7/10; HP/Juniper switches/routers/firewalls; secure protocols (KMF, KVL, AES); Project 25 products; RF systems and antenna networks; logging/recording systems.

Knowledge of Motorola products (G-Series base stations, MCC7500/AXS consoles, Astro25) and related infrastructure (Astro 25 Master Site, Multisite, ASR).

Ability to read design drawings and customer information; strong problem-solving and documentation skills; capable of producing 'as-configured' and 'as-built' documentation; weekly reporting.
