Job title: Sr. Embedded Software Engineer - C/C++
About the Role We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join Evidence Devices and contribute to the development of Linux-based body-worn camera systems. You’ll work in an agile Embedded Team to design, implement, and maintain firmware and drivers using modern C++ in a Linux environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop code, author and refine stories in an Agile embedded development environment in support of Body Worn Camera systems.
- Embedded software development of applications in C++ and kernel-space Linux drivers.
- Maintain/update Linux drivers and perform board bring-up as needed.
- Collaborate with other design and development teams and provide strong teamwork across departments.
What We're Looking For
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; at least 10+ years of C/C++ Embedded Software Development.
- Strong understanding of real-time systems.
- Experience with ARM/Linux, Networking, and Bluetooth.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer sponsorship is not available.
- Travel: Under 10% of time.
Nice to Have
- Experience with git and Gerrit.
- Familiarity with modern C++ (14/17).
- Knowledge/experience with Yocto, Build-Root, or Linux from scratch.
- Knowledge of other *NIX distro building and board bring-up of embedded systems with Linux.
- Experience with Linux drivers and bootloaders; Linux Kernel development (write/port/debug kernel drivers).
- Knowledge of video encoding and streaming.
- Experience with Linux software libraries/services such as BlueZ, D-Bus, NetworkManager.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target Base Salary Range: USD 140,000 - 175,000 per year.
