Job Duties
- Lead the design, prototype, test, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for high complexity projects.
- Lead the development of test plans/procedures and test cases for new product electrical hardware and subsystems development.
- Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
- Demonstrate company culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure for work and driving to critical milestones.
- Drive urgency and accountability in project schedules to establish and achieve key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs.
- Serve as a role model of the company’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Grow the ability to lead and manage a small team.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
- Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the company process.
- Design and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.
- Lead in-house testing and verification efforts on current projects to verify user satisfaction, product functionality, and reliability.
- Work with engineers globally.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of relevant progressively responsible experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation.
Work or academic experience must have included:
- Analog, digital, power electrical hardware tradeoffs and design relating to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations
- Power electronics circuit design and control, including power supply design and verification, output control stability, and electrical noise mitigation
- Battery safety systems, including inrush current spikes, circuit reliability, and discharging safety
- Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
- ESD mitigation techniques and compliance testing standards
10% of domestic and international travel.
