Sr. Electrical Design Engineer

Clearwater, FL On-site

Overview

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop analog and digital circuit boards for avionics products. You will carry designs from requirements through component selection, simulation, schematics, integration, and testing while working closely with manufacturing. This role requires at least 7 years of aerospace board design experience and offers hands-on involvement in a structured development environment guided by DO-178C and DO-254.

Responsibilities

• Convert product requirements into analog and digital board designs, including component selection, circuit simulation, schematic capture, and design documentation.
• Support PCB layout development and review layouts using Altium, PADS, or Allegro.
• Develop test procedures and integrate boards into their intended systems, verifying proper operation.
• Partner with manufacturing to troubleshoot hardware issues and support production testing.
• Follow structured development practices aligned with DO-178C and DO-254 guidelines and applicable FAA requirements.
• Analyze technical information and communicate findings clearly to customers and internal teams.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field.

• At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing circuit boards for aerospace applications, including working knowledge of FAA requirements.

• Familiarity with data and power bus architectures and microprocessor implementation.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Must be a U.S. Person and able to work fully on-site in Clearwater, FL.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on PCB layout experience.
