About this role
Job title: Sr. Director, Product & Technology Marketing— Optical & Data Center Systems
About the Role The Sr. Director, Product & Technology Marketing for the Data Center Networking Business Group will own the outbound marketing strategy for Marvell's photonic fabric, co-packaged optics (CPO), optical connectivity, data center switching, and data center interconnect (DCI) portfolio. This is a high-stakes, system-level marketing role targeting platform decision-makers — hyperscalers and data center operators who are deciding infrastructure-level scaling for AI clusters. The role translates silicon-level photonic innovation into a compelling end-to-end narrative about the future of AI-scale connectivity—from millimeters between chips on a co-packaged optics module, to photonic fabric and high-radix switching connecting XPU to XPU within the cluster, to coherent DCI solutions spanning kilometers between data centers.
What You'll Do
- Own the full outbound marketing strategy for Marvell's Optical & Data Center Systems portfolio — amplifying differentiation across photonic fabric, CPO, data center switching, and coherent DCI, driving awareness and preference among hyperscalers and data center operators.
- Define and maintain differentiated value propositions and messaging hierarchies for each portfolio segment; ensure consistent, compelling communication of Marvell's advantages to external audiences.
- Lead product launch planning and cross-functional readiness across sales, PR, analyst relations, digital, and events to maximize market impact at launch.
- Develop competitive response playbooks and sales enablement content — including pitch decks, solution briefs, battle cards, and objection-handling guides.
- Partner with product management and engineering to translate roadmaps into external marketing strategies and narratives.
- Build and execute a technology marketing strategy that positions Marvell as a leader in optical-scale AI infrastructure, telling the end-to-end story from co-packaged optics to photonic fabric and high-radix switching.
- Create a pipeline of thought leadership assets (white papers, solution briefs, executive presentations, keynote narratives, technical blogs) translating silicon innovation into customer and industry impact.
- Collaborate with executive and product leadership to sharpen Marvell's technology narrative for industry forums, analyst briefings, customer events, and investor communications.
- Act as a senior voice of the market — tracking industry trends, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements to continuously sharpen Marvell's positioning.
- Serve as the primary outbound marketing partner to product line executives and management, translating roadmap inputs into audience narratives and campaign execution.
- Collaborate with corporate, digital, events, AR/PR, and content teams to ensure portfolio messaging is consistently amplified across channels.
- Establish shared messaging frameworks, launch standards, and audience segmentation playbooks that scale across Marvell's business units.
- Represent the marketing function in senior leadership forums, ensuring outbound strategy and investment priorities align with market insight and business outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- BS degree required; Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline strongly preferred; MBA or MS valued.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in outbound product marketing or technology marketing within the semiconductor, systems, or AI infrastructure industry; pure product management backgrounds not considered.
- Deep expertise in AI/data center optical infrastructure — including co-packaged optics (CPO).
- Proven ability to translate complex technology into external messaging and demand across global audiences.
