About the Role As the Sr Director of Alliance Management, you will establish and nurture relationships with Biogen's partners, manage highly complex alliances throughout their lifecycle, drive joint governance, and ensure successful partnership outcomes. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize alliance design and execution, guiding best practices to deliver groundbreaking medicines. What You'll Do
- Drive alliance design and strategy for post-deal readiness activities, establishing guiding principles, governance structures, and alliance scorecards.
- Act as the expert on alliance contracts, developing and amending contracts in collaboration with Business Development, and managing non-financial amendments.
- Oversee alliance governance, including partner alignment, internal preparation, and tracking outcomes, while managing executive-level stakeholder relationships.
- Build expertise in partner capabilities, culture, deal structure, and derisking strategies, representing the alliance voice with stakeholders.
- Use alliance reporting and health monitoring to inform and adjust alliance strategy.
- Train multidisciplinary teams on alliance value drivers.
- Guide on tools and best practices for best-in-class alliance execution and deliver partnering and cultural sensitivity training.
- Facilitate functional learnings across alliances. What We're Looking For
- Expertise in alliance contracts with a proven track record of translating contracts into actionable plans.
- Ability to influence senior-level stakeholders and impact business outcomes.
- Proactively identify and solve complex problems using innovative methods beyond existing solutions.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and providing thought leadership.
- Skilled in negotiation and conflict management at the senior level, developing change management strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences.
- 15+ years of experience in Life Sciences Alliance Management, Research, Development, or Commercial areas.
- Advanced degree may be substituted for experience.
- Adjacent experience in Finance, Business Development, Strategy, and Manufacturing strongly considered.
- Healthcare consulting experience strongly considered. Nice to Have
