Position Summary: The primary mission of the Development Engineer is to efficiently develop required turbocharger(s) to meet customer’s needs, ensure it is in line with the product platforms, and the latest technologies available. The final turbocharger(s) must be economically and practically able to be put into production.

Job Description: The engineer will design and develop required turbocharger(s) to meet customer needs, in line with the product platforms and marketing strategy. They will create engineering change notices to release turbochargers, outline drawings, issue engineering bills of materials, complete technical risk assessment and obtain its approval. They will actively communicate with customers to follow up development and qualification of the turbocharger on engine. They will provide technical support to customers in turbocharger, engine testing, vehicle testing, installation, field trouble shooting, and to functional departments internally for assigned OEMs. They will involve product and technology introduction strategy in line with marketing strategy. They will lead design reviews and assess risk, ensuring technical risk is managed. They will manage projects, including design reviews, customer connections, and project status management. They will complete work in compliance with TS 16949 requirements. They will participate in business trips as instructed, and write trip reports for each trip. They will provide technical support to functional departments for assigned OEMs in a teamwork manner. They will carry out instructions from direct supervisor effectively and timely. They will support customers as a back-up for the immediate supervisor when absent in the office. They will submit monthly progress reports to the supervisor. They will actively participate in Six Sigma Plus programs and apply Six Sigma Plus principles to daily work to solve problems. They will manage the project, including design reviews and customer connections and project status management.

Job Qualification: University graduate with an engineering degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in turbocharger or engines. Good communication skills with people in both Mandarin and English. Project management experience, especially risk management. 3–5 years relevant experience in the automotive industry. Engine or turbocharger development is preferred. Proficient user of 3D CAD for industrial design such as Catia, Pro/E, or UG; knowledge about GD&T and its application in the automotive industry is an advantage. Good planning and schedule management skills. Good oral and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English. Technology exchange capabilities with customers, suppliers, and management teams. Good team work spirit. Good knowledge in engine calibration.
