About Cognizant Consulting

Cognizant Consulting is more than Cognizant’s consulting practice. We’re a global community of 5,000+ experts dedicated to helping clients reimagine their business. Blending our deep industry and technology advisory capability, we create innovative business solutions for Fortune 500 clients. And now, we’re looking for our next colleague who’ll join us in shaping the future of business. Could it be you?

About the role

As a Sr. Consulting Manager, Solutions Engineering you will make an impact by designing and delivering enterprise-scale AWS cloud solutions that enable complex application migration, modernization, and platform transformation.

You will be a valued member of the Solutions Engineering team and work collaboratively with AWS architects, Cognizant delivery leadership, and client engineering, platform, and product teams. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with consulting leadership, requiring you to own architectural outcomes while helping client engineering teams build sustainable cloud and DevSecOps capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect and deliver enterprise AWS cloud solutions aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles, including landing zones, multi-account architectures, networking, identity and access management, security, and platform engineering for complex financial-services workloads.
  • Lead cloud migration and application modernization initiatives, moving applications from on-premises and legacy cloud environments to AWS, with emphasis on ECS/Fargate, container-based services, serverless architectures, APIs, and cloud-native modernization patterns.
  • Design and build Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and TypeScript, including reusable L2/L3 constructs, stack composition, cross-account deployment patterns, AWS Organizations guardrails, and standardized ECS/Fargate service constructs.
  • Engineer secure DevSecOps and CI/CD capabilities, including pipeline design and standardization, automated security and quality gates, IAM policies, AWS Config, CloudTrail, Security Hub, CSPM tooling, and cloud compliance controls.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to client teams, leading discovery sessions, architecture reviews, technical workshops, paired-programming sessions, and structured knowledge transfer to strengthen client capabilities across AWS, CDK/TypeScript, DevSecOps, ECS/Fargate, and cloud-native engineering.

Work model

We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in the United States. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.

The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.

What you must have to be considered

  • 12+ years of hands-on cloud and infrastructure engineering experience, including 5+ years focused on AWS, with deep architecture expertise across VPC, IAM, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, AWS Organizations, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
  • Strong hands-on AWS CDK and TypeScript expertise, including authoring L2/L3 constructs, stack composition, reusable IaC patterns, cross-account deployments, landing zones, and enterprise security guardrails.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise cloud migration and application modernization, including rehosting, replatforming and modernization, with strong container expertise across Docker, ECS/Fargate, EKS, Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Strong CI/CD and DevSecOps engineering experience, including designing and standardizing pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI, combined with experience implementing IAM, cloud-security guardrails, CSPM, and automated compliance controls.
  • Demonstrated consulting and client-facing delivery experience, including architecture leadership, technical workshops, executive and engineering stakeholder communication, and structured knowledge transfer or coaching that builds sustainable client engineering capability.

These will help you succeed

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
  • Experience with ECS and Fargate modernization, including task-definition patterns, service autoscaling, ECR integration, and Fargate Spot optimization.
  • Experience with AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) methodologies and cloud migration programs in financial services, banking, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, particularly translating or evolving Terraform-based infrastructure patterns into AWS CDK/TypeScript constructs, along with exposure to Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with FinOps and cloud-cost governance, including tagging governance and reserved-capacity planning.

We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed.
