About the Role Databricks is seeking a strategic and experienced Sr. Compensation Manager for the GTM organization to partner with founders and senior leadership. You will co-create compensation models that attract, retain and motivate world-class technical talent, aligned with the overall compensation philosophy. This role reports to the Senior Director of Compensation. What You'll Do
- Lead compensation solutioning for GTM talent (40%) to align with business strategy and talent objectives.
- Manage compensation processes through the employee life cycle (30%), including offers, promotions, transfers, and seat on pay cycles.
- Contribute to building and delivering enterprise-wide compensation programs and frameworks (30%) to scale across the organization.
- Partner closely with founders and executive leadership to understand business needs and deliver data-backed compensation recommendations; act as a trusted advisor on offers, leveling, promotions, and org changes.
- Synthesize complex data into clear outputs; analyze market trends in cash, equity, and total rewards to inform decision-making and tradeoffs; leverage advanced tools such as Google Sheets/Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python. What We're Looking For
- Compensation expertise: job architecture, compensation frameworks, market pricing, year-end and mid-year pay cycles, global compensation practices, and pay-for-performance design.
- Data proficiency: exceptional analytical skills; ability to synthesize data into actionable outputs; advanced capabilities in Google Sheets/Excel; experience with Tableau, SQL, Python; AI for comp analytics is a plus.
- Deep tech compensation knowledge, especially around new-hire and refresh equity strategies in the tech sector.
- Ability to balance compensation knowledge with business solutioning from first principles.
- Operational and partnership excellence; connect the dots between systems, programs, and people to deliver compensation programs/products.
- Savvy collaborator and trusted advisor; partner with founders and executive leadership; support sensitive, high-stakes decisions with data-backed recommendations. Compensation & Benefits
