Sr. Client Service Associate (Sr. CSA)

Scotiabank

About this role

About the Role The Sr. Client Service Associate (Sr. CSA) supports the Agriculture Sr. Client Relationship Managers to service client requirements and onboarding needs within the Agriculture Commercial Banking Distribution. This 16-month temporary/contract position emphasizes regulatory-compliant onboarding, client service escalations, and credit-related activities to help manage portfolio risk and deepen client relationships. What You'll Do

  • Onboarding: Support the collection of information directly from clients and from various sources necessary to assess the client’s risk profile to meet regulatory requirements related to KYC, AML, etc. This includes contacting clients, sourcing internal/external sources/web sites, documenting information in Know Your Client documentation in formats such as Client Profile Information documents, and responding to internal Compliance groups.
  • Client servicing escalations: Help resolve service-related matters raised by the client directly to the Sr. Client Relationship Manager. This does not replace servicing provided by the Business Service Center and is typically credit in nature or day-to-day servicing.
  • Credit related tasks: (a) Contact clients for financial reporting and spread financial statements, projections and borrowing bases; review results, escalate any signs of deterioration and update appropriate systems; (b) commence preparation of Credit Presentations; (c) assist with completion of conditions precedent, diligence and other requirements necessary to obtain approvals; (d) ensure client files are complete and appropriately documented in various systems (e.g., SDR, e-tracker); (e) provide general support as necessary in the annual review process and other credit-related situations to maintain portfolio quality. What We're Looking For
  • Experience in client service or banking, with exposure to commercial banking and/or credit processes.
  • Strong ability to coordinate with internal partners and manage information flow for onboarding and regulatory compliance (KYC/AML).
  • Proficiency in reviewing financial information, preparing credit-related documentation, and understanding of credit approval workflows.
  • Familiarity with client documentation systems (e.g., SDR, e-tracker) and ability to maintain accurate, complete client files.
  • Effective communication and relationship-management skills to service existing and prospective Agriculture Banking clients.
