Sr. Business Analyst - Talent Marketing Analytics

As a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, you will apply your strategic thinking, quantitative rigor, and AI fluency to tackle complex, open-ended business challenges that directly impact company performance. You will join a collaborative analyst community that values innovation, continuous learning, and data-backed decision-making.

As a member of the Talent Marketing Analytics team, you will harness data and advanced analytics to shape how Capital One reaches, engages, and hires top-tier talent. Sitting at the intersection of strategy and execution, you will collaborate directly with marketing leaders, product partners, and external agencies to drive major growth initiatives - from designing international expansion KPI frameworks and media partnership models to launching cutting-edge A/B testing and AI-driven Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategies.

Your day-to-day might involve:

• Building analytics strategies to measure the impact of our paid media, events, and media partnerships.
• Creating standardized KPI frameworks and reporting standards for new international markets.
• Designing and analyzing A/B tests to optimize campaign performance across candidate channels.
• Setting up tracking and reporting for emerging digital trends, such as Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
• Creating, automating, and updating user-friendly dashboards to track key performance metrics.
• Using tools like SQL, Python, and generative AI to quickly analyze campaign data and automate routine reporting.

General Responsibilities:

• Marketing Analytics & Strategy: Analyze performance across our marketing funnel to find growth opportunities and make clear recommendations to improve campaign outcomes in partnership with our marketing agency.
• Experimentation & Testing: Set up hypotheses, design tests, and analyze results for multi-channel campaigns both in the U.S. and globally.
• Dashboard & Product Ownership: Build, manage, and maintain automated dashboards that keep key metrics up to date and accessible.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing strategists, product managers, IT, and external agency partners to align on goals and data needs.
• AI & Technical Innovation: Apply tools like SQL, Python, and AI assistants to streamline workflows and modernize our analytical tools.
• Data Storytelling: Present insights clearly through simple visuals and strong narratives to help leaders make confident, data-driven decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
• A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
• A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
• 2+ years of experience in statistical analyses
• 1+ years of experience in consulting
• 1+ years of experience presenting to cross-functional stakeholders
• 1+ years of experience defining business requirements

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business Analyst

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
