Job title: Sr Associate Finance

About the Role The Operations Finance Senior Associate will support Amgen’s Operations Finance team through financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business partnering. This role partners with Operations and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, manage forecasts and budgets, and help ensure financial discipline across operational activities. It will also contribute to process improvements and the development of clear financial analyses that support business priorities.

What You'll Do

• Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for Operations Finance.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and commentary on business performance.
• Partner with Operations stakeholders to understand key business drivers, cost trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support expense management, cost center analysis, headcount tracking, capital planning, and other operational finance activities.
• Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying key variances and providing actionable insights.
• Assist in the preparation of management presentations, financial summaries, and business review materials.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and financial validation.
• Help maintain financial discipline by ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and corporate finance requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other business partners to support operational decision-making.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting consistency, and forecast accuracy.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business case development for operational initiatives.
• Use financial systems and reporting tools, such as SAP, S4 Hana, Hyperion, Anaplan, Excel, Smartsheet, ChatGPT, Codex, and other standard finance platforms, to gather data and support analysis.
• Communicate financial results, risks, and opportunities clearly to finance leaders and business partners.

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational performance management.
• Ability to partner with Operations, Finance, and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Experience with expense management, cost center analysis, headcount tracking, capital planning, and other operational finance activities.
• Skill in analyzing actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying variances and providing actionable insights.
• Experience preparing management presentations, financial summaries, and business review materials.
• Proficiency with month-end and quarter-end close activities, accruals, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and financial validation.
• Ability to maintain financial discipline by ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and corporate finance requirements.
