Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Frederick, Maryland. This role is responsible for driving an accurate and timely close process while supporting reliable financial reporting, compliance, and operational insight. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work across departments to strengthen accounting processes and reporting quality.
Responsibilities

Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, keeping deliverables on schedule and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.

Prepare and evaluate journal entries, accruals, allocations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain complete and accurate financial records.

Oversee the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and close documentation to support dependable internal and external reporting.

Review accounting output completed by other team members, providing guidance to improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Produce periodic financial statements, disclosures, cash reporting, and short-term cash projections for leadership decision-making.

Partner with project accounting and other cross-functional teams to support precise project-related and company-wide financial results.

Manage sales tax filings and assist with statutory, regulatory, and audit-related requests by organizing schedules and required documentation.

Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, variance review, and ad hoc financial analysis while recommending process, control, and reporting improvements.

Proven experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in a corporate accounting environment.

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliation processes.

Hands-on experience reviewing bank reconciliations, monitoring cash activity, and supporting financial reporting deliverables.

Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance reports with a high level of accuracy.

Familiarity with sales tax compliance, audit support, and internal control documentation.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate across accounting functions and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and reporting requirements effectively.
