We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting period-end close activities, and producing reliable reporting for leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment while working closely with the Controller and broader finance team.

Responsibilities

• Lead core close activities by preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.

• Oversee general ledger accuracy by validating financial transactions and ensuring records are maintained in alignment with established accounting policies.

• Develop and review financial statements and variance analyses, highlighting key trends and explaining material fluctuations to management.

• Reconcile critical balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaid items, accruals, and fixed assets, and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Coordinate audit support by organizing schedules, gathering requested documentation, and responding to inquiries during annual audits and interim reviews.

• Strengthen the control environment by assisting with the creation, execution, and monitoring of internal accounting procedures and compliance measures.

• Provide day-to-day guidance to entry-level accounting team members, reviewing work for accuracy and supporting development on technical accounting topics.

• Contribute to special initiatives including process optimization, financial analysis, and accounting support for system-related projects when needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with at least 4 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting background is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.

• Hands-on experience with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP systems, along with advanced Excel capabilities.

• Proven ability to manage month-end close activities, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Solid analytical and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial partners.

• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving business environment.

• Experience within financial services or another regulated industry is preferred.
