Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position. This role is ideal for someone who can manage critical close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure the integrity of the organization’s accounting processes. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach to reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead key activities tied to the monthly close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is recorded accurately.

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support, maintaining consistency with accounting policies and reporting standards.

• Review and maintain general ledger accounts to help preserve the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

• Complete bank reconciliations regularly to confirm cash activity aligns with recorded transactions.

• Analyze financial records and supporting documentation to identify variances, unusual activity, and areas requiring follow-up.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for close processes and balance sheet reviews.

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with direct responsibility for monthly close activities.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.

• Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

• Hands-on experience performing bank reconciliations and researching unreconciled items.

• High level of attention to detail with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced accounting environment.
